- ✓You need dual 8K, dual 6K, or dual 4K displays — or the bandwidth headroom for future high-resolution workflows.
- ✓You move large media files (8K video, RAW photo libraries, ProRes timelines) and want NVMe-class speeds across the dock.
Check first if...
- !Your laptop is Thunderbolt 3 or 4 only. The dock works (downcompatible) but caps at TB4 speeds — the cheaper Anker 778 Thunderbolt 4 dock or 575 USB-C dock is better value.
- !You use a standard M1, M2, or M3 MacBook (non-Pro/Max). Apple Silicon limits these to one external display via Thunderbolt — you can't unlock dual 8K.
- !You run ChromeOS or Linux. Not officially supported by Anker for this dock.

Will it work with my MacBook Pro?
Yes for 2025+ MacBook Pro models with Thunderbolt 5 (M4 Pro / M4 Max). Yes at reduced bandwidth for older MacBook Pro M1/M2/M3 Pro/Max via Thunderbolt 4. Standard M1, M2, M3 MacBooks (non-Pro/Max) work but Apple Silicon limits them to one external display. Not compatible with Intel-based MacBooks.
Can I really run dual 8K displays?
Yes, on Windows laptops with Thunderbolt 5 — dual 8K@60Hz via the two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports. On macOS, single 8K@60Hz or single 6K@60Hz per display (Mac architecture limit, not the dock's limit). HDMI and DisplayPort outputs can't be used simultaneously.
Does it charge my MacBook Pro 16-inch?
