Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus
Keep the fridge cold, the Wi-Fi up, and the CPAP running through 13 days of outage. 5040Wh of LiFePO4 backup, 7200W of clean AC output, expandable to 60kWh. Indoor-safe, near-silent, ready the second the grid drops.
Why this beats a gas generator.
Buyers ask why the 5000 Plus costs more than a $500 portable generator. The answer is everything you don't pay for: noise, fumes, fuel, maintenance, and the safety risk of running combustion equipment near your home.
- ✕ 65–80 dB — louder than a vacuum cleaner
- ✕ Carbon monoxide — outdoor only, never indoors
- ✕ Gasoline storage, oil changes, tune-ups
- ✕ Pull-start delay before power flows
- ✓ ≤30 dB in Quiet Mode — quiet as a library
- ✓ Zero emissions — safe to run inside your home
- ✓ No fuel, no oil, no maintenance — ever
- ✓ 0ms UPS — power flows the instant the grid drops
Direct factory pricing, full 5-year manufacturer warranty, and authentic units shipped from Jackery's US fulfillment network.
7200W continuous output runs full-size fridges, ACs, sump pumps, and power tools that would crush smaller stations.
Phone, email, or chat with a real person who knows the product. We help size your setup before you buy, not after.
Solar panels, transfer switches, expansion batteries — everything that connects to the 5000 Plus is on our shelf.
Big power. Clear reasons to buy.
The Explorer 5000 Plus sits in the premium backup category because it solves real power needs: higher capacity, stronger output, and a clean upgrade path for serious users.
Massive onboard energy storage rated for 4,000+ cycles to 70% — roughly 10 years of daily use.

Add up to 5 extra battery packs over time — no need to replace your station as needs grow.
Sub-20 millisecond cutover keeps computers, network gear, and CPAP machines running through outages.

This isn't a small emergency battery.
It's positioned like a premium home backup platform. That means more power, more flexibility, and less compromise when you actually need it most.
7200W places it in a class for buyers who need stronger backup performance — central AC, well pumps, EV trickle charging, and full-size kitchens.
The expandable design lets you start at 5040Wh and grow to 60kWh — no need to overbuy on day one or replace the station when needs grow.
1200W solar input. Optional Smart Transfer Switch hardwires up to 12 home circuits. The full home-backup direction is already engineered.
4,000+ cycles to 70% capacity. Roughly 10 years of daily use. Far safer thermal profile than older NMC packs.
Every plug you need. None you don't.
Three ways to fill 5040Wh.
The 5000 Plus accepts AC wall, solar, and 12V car charging — and accepts more than one input simultaneously to speed things up further.
AC wall outlet
3000W max input via standard 120V wall outlet. Fastest-available method — 0 to 100% in roughly 2 hours.
Solar (2× 500W panels)
1200W max solar input via MC4 connectors. Full charge in about 5 hours under ideal sun conditions.
12V car port
Top-up while driving — best for road trips and emergency mobile charging when AC isn't available.

From verified Swag House buyers.
All reviews are from verified Judge.me purchases. We don't filter, ghost-write, or hide negatives.
Survived our 4-day winter outage without a hiccup
Boulder lost power after a snowstorm and we ran the fridge, internet, lamps, and my CPAP for 4 days on the base unit plus our two solar panels. The transfer switch installation was straightforward — Swag House helped me size it before I bought. Already ordered the second battery pack.
Finally a station that actually runs the RV AC
We had a Jackery 1000 before and it couldn't run our 13.5K BTU RV AC. The 5000 Plus runs it for hours. TT-30 outlet means no adapter dance. Charges back up in about 2 hours when we hit a campground. Worth every dollar.
Heavy but worth it — wish it had wheels built in
132 pounds is no joke. The handles are solid but if you have to move it between rooms regularly you'll want a hand truck. Power output and runtime are everything Jackery promised. Knocked one star only because of the weight, not the product.
PSPS season is no longer scary
California public safety power shutoffs were destroying our work-from-home setup. The UPS switchover is so fast we don't even notice the cut. Have run our home office (computers, monitors, internet, lights) for 14+ hours twice already. Quiet. Cool. No fumes. Worth every dollar over a generator.
The questions buyers actually ask.
Everything we get asked on the phone, in email, and in chat — answered up front so you don't have to leave the page to find them.
What's the warranty and how do I file a claim?
The Explorer 5000 Plus carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty from Jackery covering defects in materials and workmanship. As an authorized Jackery dealer, Swag House Store registers your warranty automatically when your order ships.
If you ever need to file a claim, contact us at 833-399-3837 or info@swaghouse.net and we'll handle the back-and-forth with Jackery for you. You don't have to chase the manufacturer alone.
How loud is it during operation?
At idle and light loads, the unit is essentially silent — under 30 dB. Internal fans only ramp up under heavy continuous loads (above ~3000W) or while fast-charging at full 3000W AC input. At those levels you'll hear the fan, but it's still significantly quieter than even a quiet inverter generator.
For comparison: a refrigerator hum is around 40 dB. A normal conversation is around 60 dB. The Explorer never approaches generator-level noise (75+ dB).
Will it run my whole house?
Not all of it at once — and no portable power station that size does. But it will run your essentials: refrigerator, internet/router, lights, phone charging, CPAP, TV, and a few outlets indefinitely during an outage.
If you want hardwired panel-level integration, add the Smart Transfer Switch (in the bundle picker above). That lets you wire up to 12 specific home circuits to the Explorer, so when the grid goes down, those circuits keep running automatically through the battery.
How long does it take to charge from empty?
Three options:
AC wall outlet: ~2 hours (0–100%) at 3000W input.
Solar (2× 500W panels): ~5 hours under good sun conditions.
12V car port: ~25 hours while driving — slow, but useful for road trips.
You can combine AC and solar simultaneously for even faster charging in emergency scenarios.
Does it work in cold weather?
Yes, with limits. The Explorer 5000 Plus discharges down to 14°F (−10°C) and charges down to 32°F (0°C). Below those temperatures the LiFePO4 cells protect themselves by pausing operations.
For winter outages, store the unit indoors or in a garage that stays above freezing. Once warmed up, it operates normally even when outdoor temperatures are below zero.
Can I take it on a plane?
No. At 5040Wh it vastly exceeds the FAA limit for lithium batteries on commercial aircraft (100Wh per battery, 160Wh with airline approval). The Explorer 5000 Plus is intended for ground transportation only.
How long will the battery last over time?
The LiFePO4 cells are rated for 4,000+ charge cycles to 70% capacity. That's roughly 10 years of daily charge/discharge use, or 20+ years of weekly use.
LiFePO4 also has a much safer thermal profile than older NMC chemistry — lower fire risk and longer calendar life. After 10 years you'll still have a battery with ~70% of original capacity, which is still plenty of usable storage.
Can I expand the system later?
Yes — that's one of the best reasons to buy the Plus. You can add up to 5 expansion battery packs over time, scaling from 5040Wh to 60kWh. You can also add more solar later (up to 1200W input).
Buy the size that fits your needs today. If your power needs grow, the system grows with you instead of forcing a full replacement.
Does it have an app?
Yes. The free Jackery app (iOS and Android) connects via WiFi 2.4GHz or Bluetooth 5.0. You can monitor battery level, AC/DC output, charging status, and switch outputs on/off remotely.
Firmware updates also come through the app, so the unit gets better over time.
How does the UPS function work?
When you plug the Explorer into a wall outlet and then plug your equipment into the Explorer's AC outlets, it acts as an uninterruptible power supply. If the grid goes down, the battery takes over in under 20 milliseconds — fast enough that computers, network gear, and CPAP machines don't reboot.
This is one of the most underrated features for work-from-home buyers and anyone with sensitive medical devices.

Read before you buy.
These terms apply to all Explorer 5000 Plus purchases through Swag House Store. By placing an order, you acknowledge you have read, understood, and agreed to the following.
01 High-voltage electrical product
The Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus is a 7,200W high-voltage device with 14,400W surge capacity, capable of supplying 120V and 240V power to home circuits, EV chargers, and major appliances. Operating it requires basic electrical literacy. Improper use - wet conditions, damaged cabling, overloading single circuits, or improper grounding - can cause electrical shock, fire, equipment damage, or serious injury.
Hardwiring to home circuits requires the Jackery 60A Smart Transfer Switch (sold in select bundles) AND a licensed electrician for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and required permits. Owners are solely responsible for compliance.
02 No liability for damage or injury
Swag House Store is not liable for any property damage, equipment failure, fire, electrical injury, illness, or death resulting directly or indirectly from the operation, transport, charging, storage, modification, or installation of the Explorer 5000 Plus. By purchasing, you accept that all risk of accident, electrical fault, fire, battery incident, equipment damage, or any harm rests entirely with the owner or installer - never with Swag House Store.
03 Battery safety, charging & storage
The 5000 Plus uses a 5,040Wh LiFePO4 battery - UL certified with 94V-0 fire-resistant materials and ChargeShield 2.0 BMS. UL certification confirms compliance with electrical safety standards under tested conditions but does not eliminate fire or thermal-runaway risk from improper handling.
- Charge and store in a dry, well-ventilated location away from flammable materials
- Never charge below 32 deg F or above 113 deg F ambient temperature
- Use only Jackery-supplied cables and chargers - third-party charging may damage the BMS or void warranty
- Discontinue use immediately if the unit shows swelling, deformation, leaking, unusual heat, smoke, or fault codes
- Maintain 40-60% state of charge if storing for 30+ days; cycle it once per quarter even when unused
04 Performance specifications
All capacity, output, surge, range, runtime, and recharge figures stated on this page are sourced from Jackery's manufacturer specification sheet under standard test conditions: 70 deg F ambient, full battery state of charge, undamaged cells, calibrated meters.
Real-world performance varies significantly with ambient temperature, battery age and cycle count, load profile, surge characteristics of connected appliances, throttle behavior, and inverter efficiency. Cycling appliances (refrigerators, freezers, AC compressors) draw less average power than nameplate; surge-heavy appliances (well pumps, sump pumps, motors) require headroom over their continuous rating.
05 Sizing calculator disclaimer
The embedded sizing calculator provides an energy-needs estimate based on Jackery's stated specifications and typical usage patterns. Actual runtime varies with temperature, battery age, appliance condition, and surge characteristics not always published. The calculator's "fits / tight / over" verdict is a guideline, not a guarantee of any specific outcome.
This tool is not a substitute for a professional energy audit or a licensed electrician's load calculation. For medical equipment, whole-home backup, business-critical applications, or any installation that hardwires into home circuits, contact Jackery's technical support team and a licensed electrician before ordering.
06 Modification voids warranty
Any modification to the Explorer 5000 Plus voids both the Jackery manufacturer warranty and Swag House Store's involvement in dealer support. Prohibited modifications include: replacing or altering the BMS, inverter, or display; opening the chassis; installing third-party batteries; modifying input/output ports; or rewiring lighting/signal systems. Modified units are sold as-is from the point of modification.
07 Transport & airline restrictions
The 5000 Plus's 5,040Wh lithium-ion battery vastly exceeds the US Department of Transportation's 100 watt-hour limit for lithium-ion batteries in checked airline baggage (49 CFR 175.10) and may not be transported on commercial aircraft as carry-on or checked baggage.
For ground transport, the unit ships via freight carrier in non-conductive packaging. Owners are responsible for compliance with all local hazmat and shipping regulations when transporting.
08 Hardwire installation requires a licensed electrician
The Smart Transfer Switch (included in select bundles) wires directly into your home electrical panel and requires installation by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and required permits. Improper installation can damage your home wiring, void warranties on connected appliances, cause fire, or result in electrocution.
Swag House Store does not provide installation services. We will not be liable for any damage, fire, injury, or death resulting from improper installation of the transfer switch by the buyer or any non-licensed installer.
